EFSA recommends that adults should consume

fats are made up of saturated and unsaturated fatty acids, including monounsaturated

In the modern nutrition, the appropriate
omega-6/omega-3 ratio has shifted towards omega-6 fatty acids. To
counterbalance this, among many other things, omega-3 consumption is

needs them but cannot produce them, so they must be obtained from external
sources). EPA and DHA contribute to the proper functioning of the heart. This
beneficial effect can be achieved with a daily intake of 250 mg of EPA and
